Art Is for Everybody: Making Art Accessible to All

Digital banner with the phrase ‘Art Is for Everybody’ in bold brush lettering above four colorful abstract floral paintings — pink coneflowers, a rose, a field of vibrant dots, and red-orange blossoms — set against a background of people painting a mural together.

I recently celebrated my birthday 🎉 and instead of simply celebrating, I wanted to share something close to my heart — an advocacy I call Art Is for Everybody, where I am making art accessible to all.

When I first began sharing my artwork online, I was surprised and humbled by the response. Hundreds of people here in the Philippines commented on how deeply the pieces moved them. I don’t see that as a reflection of some remarkable talent on my part, but rather of a deeper truth: art often isn’t accessible here.

Too often, it’s locked behind gallery walls, exclusive shows, and price points that make art feel like a luxury only for the “rich.” The result is that many people don’t see themselves as art consumers, or even as people who deserve to have beauty in their daily lives.

But I believe differently. I see art as something woven into our humanity — a God-given right to beauty, inspiration, peace, joy, and memory-making. And just as importantly, I believe anyone can create art.

That’s why I’m working toward a future where I can offer low-cost expressive arts workshops. My goal is to make creativity — and its healing power — available to more people. I’m still in training, so the workshops aren’t open yet. But while I learn, I’ll be sharing insights from the journey and offering occasional giveaways of my own art (I just completed one this week).

Because at the end of the day, art belongs to all of us. 💛
